2025 CCSRA Meetings

2025 has brought a number of useful, entertaining, and informative programs. To date, members have gained information on:

  • WA legislative matters
  • Mini-Grants to enhance your classroom
  • Decluttering and downsizing for a happier retirement
  • Noxious weed control
  • Hospice and palliative care options in Clallam County
  • Info on Peninsula College
  • The second report on Eve Datisman's visit to Mexico and Uruguay.

2024 CCSRA Meetings

CCSRA meetings in 2024: Members enjoyed the following presentations:

  • Getting started as a family archivist
  • Tour of two master gardens with tips on irrigation and composting
  • Eve Datisman's first presentation about her travels in New Orleans, Mexico, and Uruguay.
  • Port Angeles Fine Arts Center with optional tour
  • Mini-Grant applications open for 2024-2025
  • Legislative report from Rep. Mike Chapman
  • Introduction to the organization, Young Life

The year concluded with a Holiday Party, complete with a white elephant gift exchange. The 2024 CCSRA Meetings page has the specifics.

2023 CCSRA Meetings

CCSRA meetings in 2023: Members enjoyed the following presentations: 

  • Educational presentation about the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe.
  • Clallam County Genealogical Society resources
  • Workshop on document and photograph preservation
  • Field Arts and Events Hall in Port Angeles
  • Availability of 2023-2024 Mini Grants
  • The Rev Dr. Matt Paul described his trip to Israel
  • The End of Life Washington
  • What it's like to be a chaplain with the Sheriff's Department


June's meeting was combined with the annual Picnic.

2018-2022 CCSRA Meetings

CCSRA meetings in 2018-2019: Members enjoyed the following presentations: 

  • Discover "Books that Won't Let You Go"
  • Details about the new book, Northwest Coast Explorer, from the naturalist author himself.
  • Hands On History Project explanation by guest speaker Kathy Estes, Director of the North Olympic History Center.
  • Information on the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society
  • All about the Feiro Marine Life Center, by Melissa Williams, Executive Director, with an invitation to tour the marine research facility.
  • Instructional presentation about WSSRA and CCSRA membership benefits

CCSRA meetings in 2020-2022 were limited. The Covid pandemic disrupted life on many levels in 2020, including the ability to meet as an organization. Nevertheless, as the pandemic waned, members met together once again in late 2022 and enjoyed the following presentations: 

  • The Tribal Historic Preservation Officer of the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe presented ethnographic and archaeological research on an ancestral Jamestown S'Klallam village.
  • Fascinating info about a class trip to Hawaii and participation in turtle recovery efforts.
  • Information on the 4PA organization by Joe DeScala

CCSRA meetings in 2016-2017: Members enjoyed the following presentations:
